Weekend weddings are usually the norm, but it isn’t the golden rule. No one says that you can’t have your wedding on the weekday. We wanted to share with you some quick pros and cons to consider when tossing around the idea for a weekday wedding, whether it’s a Monday or Wednesday!

PRO: More affordable. Weekdays are typically considered non-peak days, so you will often encounter discounts as well as possible incentives for both venues and vendors, meaning you can secure your dream venue and vendors. Changing your wedding to a weekday and your options will definitely expand.
PRO: More intimate and relaxed. Weddings held on the weekdays are usually smaller in size because it’s more challenging for guests to take off work in the middle of the week or attend knowing they have to be at work the next morning. But depending on how you look at it, this can be a positive! A smaller guest list offers more time for you to personally interact with all your guests, making it more personal, where you’ll be able to visit everyone who is in attendance.
PRO: Vendor availability. The best vendors and venues are usually booked out far in advance for those coveted Saturday wedding dates. However, a weekday wedding will very likely open up a world of options to work with your vendors and venue.

CON: Less time for rehearsals. If your wedding party is coming from out of town, it may be harder for them to attend a weeknight rehearsal dinner, having to schedule time off of work to attend or if they have other weekly obligations.
CON: Inconveniences for guests. One of the biggest cons of a weekday wedding is the availability for your guests to attend. Depending on the day and time of your wedding, hosting a weekday wedding will likely cause scheduling conflicts with at least some of your guests because of work, school, kids, and more. Weekday weddings are usually harder for people to attend compared to weekends.
CON: Quieter party. For your weekday wedding, expect that the party might not be as popping as it would on a weekend. Most of your guests will have outside obligations like work, school, or kids the following morning, so a late night of partying won’t be quite as appealing.
Weekday weddings have plenty of benefits for couples to consider, but there are pros and cons no matter what day you end up choosing for your wedding. The best thing you can do is find what your priorities are with your partner and figure out what is most important to the two of you.
